Day 21 - Home

So we made it to the airport relatively painlessly and I’m sitting waiting at the gate for my flight while I write this up. No short version today - you’re just gonna have to persevere but it won’t be that long (I don’t think I have the energy).
Breakfast this morning to fuel up for the loooong journey ahead and as we’re all in for traditions it was Golden Corral for the last meal, just like last time. This way everyone can chose what they fancy whether it be ALL the bacon and eggs (Gracie ‘Ron Swanson’ Gaffney) or Pizza & Caesar Salad (for me and yes for breakfast just because I could). Yeah they basically have everything, no matter the time of day you eat. Funny aside - after Gracie’s Bacon & Eggs, she grabbed some Cinnamon Rolls and she said once she finished them she was going to get some dessert. We said that’s what she had already, to which she replied 'No, Cinnamon Rolls are a breakfast thing!’ XD
On to the airport and I’ll bypass all the boring stuff (even processing our luggage, which we were really worrying about and even though it was a little overweight, we didn’t get charged any extra : ). And at this point all that’s left to come is the flight home which will hopefully be dull & uneventful (save for getting the two bottles of whisky that we’re preordered last week :P).
The End.
However, before I wrap things up for yet another trip, I’ll give you a run down of some of the favourite things from the rest of the famille from the holiday. Some things were tough decisions while others they didn’t seem to care about (I’ll let you decide which :).
Favourite Day
- Ann, Patrick, Robert & Grace: Magic Kingdom (last day).
- Me: Hollywood Studios (second visit).
Favourite Ride
- Ann, Patrick & Gerry: Flight Of Passage.
- Robert: The Hulk.
- Gracie: Seven Dwarves Mine Train.
Favourite Restaurant
- Ann & Robert: Sharks Underwater Grill.
- Patrick: The Chocolate Factory.
- Gracie: Rainforest Cafe.
- Gerry: Sci-Fi Dine In Theater.
Favourite Meal
- Ann: Taste Of The Islands (Rainforest Cafe, AK).
- Patrick: Buffet (Crystal Palace, MK).
- Robert: Pasta & Chicken (Olive Garden).
- Grace: Pasta & Prawns (Olive Garden).
- Gerry: The Reuben (Sci-Fi, Hollywood).
Other favourites & last words
- Ann: We had an amazing time it exceeded all expectations and then some. We have left this holiday with no 'I wish I hads’ - we’ve done everything we set out to do and much more. Love ma wee family so much.. x
- Patrick: Absolutely amazing (sorry he was on his iPad at the time).
- Robert: It was magical, but never get a sat nav woman!
- Grace: I love Magic Kingdom, but I don’t love Splash Mountain (which is IN Magic Kingdom!).
- And my most favourite thing, (according to the kids) was apparently Yen, the Hooters girl who served us on our most recent visit. You see, as you know it’s no secret that I really like Hooters so the kids started making up stories about me slipping out every night once everyone was sleeping, to go to Hooters to meet Yen and that’s she my new girlfriend and generally laughing at and trying to embarrass me about the whole thing. It was funny but also a little concerning that they’d write me off so easily, HAHA.
Seriously though, for me the holiday has been amazing and thoroughly enjoyable. It’s certainly not been a relaxing one in the slightest but it never was going to be and I suppose that means we made the most of the time we had here. And talking of time, it was only three weeks ago when we’re first sat in the airport waiting to fly out, though it seems like we’ve been here for much, much longer. I’m looking forward to going home (though dreading the jet-lag and first few days of work as a result), but I will really miss this place. Yes on our next holiday adventure, we will likely try somewhere different, but each of us know that we’ll be back again someday, whenever that may be.
Thanks for listening, GG signing out.
