Day 20

Last Day. Home tomorrow :( Spent most of the morning trying to get everything squeezed into our cases, while the kids slept on. We bought two extra cases here too and they were filled pretty much instantly, though doing a little spot check on the weight we were still under the limit. Just. Having little GG pay full price this time around and thus get full weight limit worked ultimately in our favour. Still a few last items to put in the hand luggage tomorrow morning.
Headed back over to Johnny Rockets for an early lunch. Robert packed his pockets full of quarters for the jukebox but it was out of order :( Shakes & burgers all round. Service was pretty poor compared to the previous time and even though it was a tasty burger (jalapeños & chipotle dressing :), I’d actually not really return again - it was only burgers too but worked out more expensive than Hooters the night before (ahhhh Hooters, the memories… ;)
You can always go, Downtown!
Last minute presents and some peanut butter treats for workies and we headed off to Downtown Disney to check it out. We were supposed to do this the first night but never got round to it, so another thing checked off the list today :) Grace got her Jessie doll she was after and from that moment she wouldn’t let her out her sight, looks like someone’s boot will have Gracie’s name on it soon :) PG got some Lego and my hunt for a Starbucks Mickey mug ended in failure (though I did pick up some cool Haunted Mansion playing cards :) It was a little wet and after an hour or so we decided to call it quits and head to Magic Kingdom for our final stop.

We should have been here most of the day, but time got the better of us. Caught the ferry from the parking lot to Magic Kingdom, first time I’ve done it (I think), it was great and there was some lovely light at the time, though took a little more time than the Monorail (What’s it called? Monorail!). The main objective was the Wishes Nighttime Spectacular Fireworks that night but since we had a few hours to go until then we went back on the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train! We did have a few Fast Passes booked for earlier in the day but missed them as we had arrived later, which was unfortunate, though I did manage to reschedule at least one for the time we were there. Grace by that point wasn’t really loving the rides and was a little tired and hungry, as were we all. We tracked down the elusive turkey legs, which we had yet to experience. These things were freakishly massive and the only turkeys these things came from were probably giant sized mutant turkeys! Ok, probably not, but they are pretty damn big. And Grace actually loved them - way to go GG, find something you like on the last day why don’t you! :) Speedway up next, and we all piled on, Grace this time handing over exclusive driving rights to myself (I couldn’t have my GoPro though, I mean you are allowed to officially, but Gracie didn’t, such a diva that one).

A hour to go, we headed to get a good spot for the Fireworks (and if you think that’s bad, some people get in line over three hours before!). Had an opportunity to test out my tripod (for the first time this trip, I kept telling Ann it was an essential item :P). A light show projected onto the castle before the Fireworks proper, and it was amazing, really on par with Fantasmic the night before, if not slightly edging it (possibly due to them showing the bit from Frozen where Elsa sings Let It Go and does the flicky thing with her hair). Then came the Fireworks, set off behind the castle and the images were simply stunning! After the Fireworks, we wanted to catch some of the Electrical Parade at 11pm so popped onto Buzz Lightyear’s Space Range Spin for a final go, but the ride reset itself so couldn’t record the final scores. A wee quick Frappuccino and watched some of the night time parade before saying adios once again. Great end to an amazing holiday and the kids absolutely loved it, though got a little emotional, Patrick especially, as we exited the park.

Late home and to bed, with everyone crashing immediately save for Patrick & Grace (oh and me, I’m still here :). Holiday wrap up and final words tomorrow (probably no pics though as Ill updating from the airport from my phone and it doesn’t let you to insert photos inline with text. Stupids. Anyway, I’m droning on now, so I’ll call it a night :)
