Day Three

Relatively short one so only one little update for Monday. Rest day today so everyone got up a little later - which felt great! Headed to the hotel for breakfast for quickness (but laziness mostly) where they served up a buffet style breakfast. The kids dined on pancakes and syrup and specially shaped Mickey waffles (which took forever to make but looked super cool). The pancakes, the first time we had had the opportunity to have them seems like a good idea at the time… Oh how we were wrong! Thirty minutes later Robert transformed into something resembling the Tasmanian Devil with incoherent screaming and everything - NOT GOOD! Safe to say we’ll be monitoring all syrup related activity for breakfast going forward…

Hey baby its cold outside…

So around mid day we headed to the first of the water parks, Blizzard Beach at Disney. Getting there was becoming a piece of cake now so to reward our cockiness, karma decided it would funny if we left the park tickets in our room. The awesome people at Disney didn’t disappoint and used my Disney experience app on my phone to verify my ID - they even generated new cards for us! :D

Standard water park stuff ensued and all the kids really loved it! A few worthy teams to note include Cross Country Creek, a huge lazy river encircling the park. I could have stayed in there all day - it was so relaxing. I had my GoPro too so managed to test out the waterproof features, though a little apprehensive about putting it underwater at first just in case :)

After some more relaxing, an awesome family raft ride and some more swimming we headed home to chill out before my mum & dad arrived. The kids were getting quite hungry and so that they didn’t lose their appetites for dinner I offered them some small snacks including some beef jerky is picked up the other night. Ann wasn’t impressed and actually spat it out of her mouth like a fussy two year old. The kids however LOVED IT - even Robert (so much so they finished it all - MY beef jerky!) and then they asked if they could get more at the shops! :)

Man v Food… FOR REALS!

So mum and dad arrived and called to see which room we were in, which just happened to be the one RIGHT NEXT DOOR!!! :D The KIDS were so happy to see them too. Ok once the pleasantries were exchanged we had some important things to discuss like where we were going for dinner. Received a voucher from a mate before we left

for Hash House A Go Go (thanks Davie :D) so that was as good a place to start as any. Apparently Adam Richman (the Man v Food guy) was here and he attempted a Sage Fried Chicken Benedict which was chicken layered with 9 eggs and chipotle cream - server man, you can’t just tell me things like that and think I won’t choose it!!! Challenge Accepted! We were warned the portion sizes were huge that sometimes people shared a dinner - they weren’t wrong, these things were monstrous (even the kids standard burger was probably enough for an adult and then some). Then mine arrived…

It was tough but I was determined and managed to finish most of it off save for a few scraps. I think I’ve consumed enough calories for the rest of the holiday!

Rolled home via Walmart for a pony for G and some trading cards for Patrick. Robert crashed out. Free falling lifts and light saber duels with Vader will be the order of the day for tomorrow early doors so better go get some sleep in now… :)
